He is wonderful and tells her all of these wonderful things, but really they were all a lie and now she is left with a broken heart. The next chorus is extended; after the first four lines, she digs deeper in terms of explaining how she breaks up with him. She throws them into the flames, which is a metaphor for the chance of a pure relationship being damaged.
